Lawrence Kohlberg developed his Theory of Moral Reasoning that can help a teacher identify a student's level of reasoning and to stimulate their moral growth. Traditionally, morality has been equated with one's character and behavior. However, Kohlberg's theory is based on the belief that children proceed through a series of stages during which they refine their concept of justice.

The Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine 1981

Sperry's work, which later earned him the Nobel Prize for Medicine in 1981, clearly showed that the brain is divided into two major parts or hemispheres, the right brain and the left brain. His research also identified that each of the parts of the brain specializes in its own style of thinking and has different capabilities. (Michael P. Pitek III,The Perfomance Group)

Learning System
Learning Maps: Critical Thinking
Critical thinking has been defined in many ways, but in Renzulli Learning, we define it as the ability to critically analyze material for skills such as point of view, bias, logically supported conclusions, and sequential development of a point. Critical thinkers plan their actions, clarify, explain, and interpret, information. They also carefully consider which information is accurate and use good judgments to make decisions. Critical thinking activities are classified as Type II training in the Enrichment Triad, with an emphasis on analyzing, synthesizing, classifying, patterning, sequencing, and reasoning.
